Abstract
The present paper is concerned with 4 cases of various respiratory tract foreign bodies eliminated under bronchoscopic control
Case I. An iron nail of 5 cm long with moderate angulation was dislodged from the left main stem bronchus of a 5-year-old boy. The nail had been lodged nearly one year and appeared markedly rusted.
Case II. A tracheal cannula had been placed in situ over a prolonged period of time to relieve the obstruction created by a ¢¥laryngeal papilloma in a 11-year-old girl. The distal one third of outer tube made of silver was badly corroded and cut off into the right main stem bronchus. This foreign body was removed successfully under endoscopic control.
Case III. A fragment of walnut lodged in the right main stem bronchus in a 6-month-old girl baby was removed.
Case IV. The shell-of an acorn inadvertently inspired by a 9-year-old caused acute obstruction sign. The shell was removed from the subglottic space.
